Job summary

Landus in Iowa seeks a motivated teammate to support outside agronomy and grain operations at our location. You will greet customers, assist in grain receiving/unloading, grain drying, and inventory measurement, as well as loading chemicals and fertilizer where applicable.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 50 pounds (occasional 100), and a high school diploma or GED. CDL endorsements and DOT compliance are a plus; training provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally 100 pounds.
• Class A CDL with air brake, tanker, HazMat endorsements preferred.
• Understand seasonality of an agricultural cooperative.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers promptly and courteously.
• Maintain and increase agronomy and feed sales, grain origination and marketing with existing customers and grow business with new customers.
• Assist in elevator operations and grain receiving/unloading.
• Grain drying operations and inventory measurement.
• Grain train loading, cleaning and sealing cars.
• Maintain facility cleanliness, safety and housekeeping records.
• Assist in fertilizer and chemical operations as applicable.
• Provide customer service for loading chemical product orders and inventory reporting.
• Maintain and repair equipment; pump bulk chemicals into customer tanks.

We are seeking a motivated individual to be part of the Landus team who will be responsible for our outside agronomy and grain operations. At Landus, you'll find a fun team atmosphere and a stable career.

What would you do?

• Greet all customers promptly and courteously
• Maintain and increase agronomy and feed sales, grain origination and marketing with existing customers and grow business with new customers, as applicable.
• Assist in all aspects of the elevator operations, if applicable to location.
• Receiving and unloading grain operations.
• Grain drying operations.
• Measuring grain inventory on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Grain train loading operations including cleaning and sealing cars.
• Keeping facility clean, safe and housekeeping records current.
• Maintain grain condition by testing temperatures and blending.
• Assist in all aspects of the fertilizer and chemical operations, if applicable to location.
• Measure inventory and report it to the supervisor.
• Assist in unloading bulk and packaged product.
• Provide customer service by and loading chemical product orders.
• Maintain and repair equipment as needed.
• Pumping bulk chemicals into customer tanks.
• Tender to applicators.
• Fill NH3 nurse tanks during season.
• Understand basic agronomy chemistry of all products.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.

Other skills that will help you succeed:

• Be able to obtain a Class A CDL with air brake, tanker, and HazMat endorsements.
• Participate in company DOT drug and alcohol program and maintain current DOT physical.
• Good computer skills.
