Job summary

Landus is seeking a motivated individual to join our team for outside agronomy and grain operations. You will greet customers and help grow agronomy, grain origination, and marketing with existing and new accounts.

Responsibilities include assisting elevator operations, grain receiving/unloading, drying, weighing inventories, and grain train loading. You will support fertilizer and chemical operations, ensure safety, and help maintain equipment and records at the location.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.
• Class A CDL endorsements and DOT program participation may be required.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally 100 pounds, and comfortable with physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers promptly and courteously.
• Maintain and increase agronomy and feed sales, grain origination and marketing with existing customers and grow business with new customers.
• Assist in elevator operations, including receiving and unloading grain, grain drying, and inventory measurement.
• Perform grain train loading, cleaning, sealing, and maintain housekeeping records.
• Support fertilizer and chemical operations, measure inventory, and report to supervisor.
• Assist in unloading bulk and packaged product and load chemical orders for customers.
• Maintain and repair equipment and pump bulk chemicals into customer tanks.
• Tend to applicators and fill NH3 nurse tanks during season.
• Understand basic agronomy chemistry of all products and comply with safety requirements.

What would you do?

• Greet all customers promptly and courteously
• Maintain and increase agronomy and feed sales, grain origination and marketing with existing customers and grow business with new customers, as applicable.
• Assist in all aspects of the elevator operations, if applicable to location.
• Receiving and unloading grain operations.
• Grain drying operations.
• Measuring grain inventory on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Grain train loading operations including cleaning and sealing cars.
• Keeping facility clean, safe and housekeeping records current.
• Maintain grain condition by testing temperatures and blending.
• Assist in all aspects of the fertilizer and chemical operations, if applicable to location.
• Measure inventory and report it to the supervisor.
• Assist in unloading bulk and packaged product.
• Provide customer service by and loading chemical product orders.
• Maintain and repair equipment as needed.
• Pumping bulk chemicals into customer tanks.
• Tender to applicators.
• Fill NH3 nurse tanks during season.
• Understand basic agronomy chemistry of all products.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.

Other skills that will help you succeed:

• Be able to obtain a Class A CDL with air brake, tanker, and HazMat endorsements.
• Participate in company DOT drug and alcohol program and maintain current DOT physical.
• Good computer skills.
