Job summary

Landus is seeking a motivated individual to join our team to manage outside agronomy and grain operations. You will greet customers, support elevator operations, and help grow agronomy and grain origination with existing and new customers.

The role includes inventory checks, grain loading, and plant maintenance across the site. You will assist in fertilizer and chemical operations as needed, maintain safety and housekeeping records, and ensure prompt, courteous customer service.

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Able to move/lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
  • Be able to obtain a Class A CDL with air brake, tanker, and HazMat endorsements.
  • Good computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and courteously.
  • Maintain and increase agronomy and feed sales, grain origination and marketing with existing customers and grow business with new customers.
  • Assist in all aspects of elevator operations, if applicable to location.
  • Receive and unload grain operations.
  • Grain drying operations.
  • Measure grain inventory on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Grain train loading operations including cleaning and sealing cars.
  • Keep facility clean, safe and housekeeping records current.
  • Maintain grain condition by testing temperatures and blending.
  • Assist in fertilizer and chemical operations, if applicable to location.
  • Measure inventory and report it to the supervisor.
  • Assist in unloading bulk and packaged product.
  • Provide customer service by loading chemical product orders.
  • Maintain and repair equipment as needed.
  • Pumping bulk chemicals into customer tanks.
  • Tender to applicators.
  • Fill NH3 nurse tanks during season.
  • Understand basic agronomy chemistry of all products.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.
Other skills that will help you succeed:
  • Be able to obtain a Class A CDL with air brake, tanker, and HazMat endorsements.
  • Participate in company DOT drug and alcohol program and maintain current DOT physical.
  • Good computer skills.
