Job summary

Landus Cooperative is seeking a motivated individual to join our team to handle outside agronomy and grain operations. You will greet customers, support grain origination and marketing, and assist with elevator operations at various locations.

The role involves handling grain receiving, drying, inventory measurement, and loading, while maintaining safety and cleanliness. Additional duties include fertilizer and chemical operations support, equipment maintenance, and CDL compliance.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.

Responsibilities

• Greet all customers promptly and courteously.
• Maintain and increase agronomy and feed sales, grain origination and marketing with existing customers, and grow with new customers.
• Assist in all elevator operations at location.
• Receive and unload grain operations.
• Grain drying operations.
• Measure grain inventory on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Grain train loading operations including cleaning and sealing cars.
• Maintain facility cleanliness and housekeeping records.
• Maintain grain condition by testing temperatures and blending.
• Assist in fertilizer and chemical operations as needed.
• Measure inventory and report to supervisor.
• Assist in unloading bulk and packaged product.
• Provide customer service and load chemical product orders.
• Maintain and repair equipment as needed.
• Pumping bulk chemicals into customer tanks.
• Tend to applicators.
• Fill NH3 nurse tanks during season.
• Understand basic agronomy chemistry of all products.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Must have a valid driver’s license.

• Understand the seasonality of an agricultural cooperative and the in-season time commitment.

Other skills that will help you succeed:

• Be able to obtain a Class A CDL with air brake, tanker, and HazMat endorsements.
• Participate in company DOT drug and alcohol program and maintain current DOT physical.
• Good computer skills.
