Job summary

Wyyerd Fiber is seeking an Operations Technician to represent the company at customers' homes, performing high-quality installations and educating clients on services while managing time efficiently.

You will work with fiber networks, configure and troubleshoot wireless and networking gear, and collaborate with customers to ensure reliable, high-value internet service.

This role requires a clean driving record, ability to pass a drug test, ISP knowledge, and strong teamwork to fulfill duties.

Responsibilities

• Understand and work with fiber network and plant maps
• Program and troubleshoot wireless and networking equipment for customers
• Educate customers on products and services
• Pull fiber through conduit and perform basic fiber splicing
• Dig for drop cable placement and lift 50 lbs as needed
• Maintain safety and quality workmanship

Job Description

The Operations Technician is a vital part of the Wyyerd team. This position takes on the face of Wyyerd as the technician and the person in front of the customer. The technician will be efficient with their time at a customer's home taking the time to perform quality work, educating the customer on the product and services provided, all while being conscious of the time it takes to do so.

Responsibilities

• Ability to understand a fiber network
• Working computer knowledge
• Understanding of basic electricity
• Understanding and interpreting plant maps
• Telecommunications wiring color-code competency
• Program and troubleshoot wireless and networking equipment for each customer
• Understanding home networks
• Pulling fiber through conduit
• Basic fiber splicing
• Digging when needed for placement of drop cables
• Lift 50 lbs and have the ability to handle a tall extension ladder.
• Other duties as required

Experience/Qualifications

• Must have clean driving record
• Ability to pass drug test
• Understanding of ISP services
• Ability to work with others on all responsibilities
