Role Description :
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Network Technician to support the maintenance, operation, and integrity of network infrastructure and critical facility systems. Under general supervision, the successful candidate will perform routine maintenance, asset management, equipment installation support, and troubleshooting activities while ensuring site security, cleanliness, and operational readiness.

This is an entry-level to early-career position ideal for candidates with 2-3 years of experience in telecommunications, networking, infrastructure maintenance, or a related field.

Key Responsibilities
Site Operations & Facility Maintenance
  • Perform general site maintenance, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining telecommunications facilities.
  • Remove and dispose of obsolete fiber infrastructure and materials.
  • Manage, organize, and return surplus assets and materials to company warehouses.
  • Organize and maintain onsite equipment designated for future deployment.
  • Ensure site security, safety, and cleanliness standards are consistently maintained.
  • Escort and monitor customers, vendors, and visitors to designated equipment locations.
Network & Infrastructure Support
  • Assist with the installation, provisioning, testing, and maintenance of telecommunications services ranging from DS0 through OC192.
  • Support installation and testing of transmission and switching equipment.
  • Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on network equipment and supporting infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot network equipment and replace defective modules or components as required.
  • Assist in monitoring network performance and identifying potential service issues.
  • Support network restoration activities during service interruptions and outages.
Asset & Materials Management
  • Receive, ship, track, and replenish equipment, tools, and consumable materials.
  • Maintain inventory records and coordinate logistics for equipment and materials.
  • Track spare parts inventory and ensure defective equipment is sent for repair or replacement.
  • Maintain tools, test equipment, and electronic systems, including:
    • Fiber optic transmission equipment
    • Lightwave multiplexing equipment
    • AC and DC power systems
    • Telecommunications test equipment
Documentation & Reporting
  • Update installation and maintenance records accurately.
  • Document troubleshooting activities and detailed information within trouble-ticket systems.
  • Provide status updates and reports on assigned projects and maintenance activities.
  • Learn and utilize company systems, databases, and applications required to perform job duties effectively.
Critical Infrastructure Support
  • Assist with maintenance and inspections of critical facility infrastructure, including:
    • HVAC systems
    • High-voltage electrical systems
    • DC power plants
    • Telecommunications infrastructure
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in telecommunications, networking, facility maintenance, or a related technical field.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Basic understanding of network monitoring, installation, maintenance, or repair.
  • Experience or knowledge in one or more of the following technical disciplines:
    • Transmission (DS1, DS3, SONET)
    • Switching (Circuit Switching, SS7)
    • TCP/IP Networking (Routers and Network Protocols)
    • Outside Plant (Fiber Locating, OTDR Testing, Fusion Splicing)
  • Familiarity with fiber optic cable locating, right-of-way documentation, and as-built drawings.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to quickly learn company software systems and databases.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience in telecommunications, electronics, networking, or infrastructure maintenance.
  • Educational background in Electronics, Telecommunications, Networking, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience working with fiber optic infrastructure and telecommunications equipment.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Work Environment
  • Participation in an on-call rotation is required, including standby, callouts, dispatch assignments, overtime, and emergency response activities as business needs dictate.
  • Ability to travel regionally and nationally as required.
  • Government security clearance is not required for this position.
Experience Level
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Entry-level candidates with applicable technical training and foundational telecommunications knowledge are encouraged to apply.
