Job summary

North Star BlueScope Steel is seeking team members to join our hot-rolled steel operations. You will work a 12-hour shift pattern: 7am–7pm for four weeks, then 7pm–7am for three to four weeks, then swing back to days. This schedule provides extended blocks of rest and alternating day/night coverage.

You can earn at least $50,000 in total compensation in the first year plus a $2,000 sign-on bonus. Benefits include medical, dental and vision from day one, a 401(k) company match and a 24/7 onsite

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Legal to work in the U.S. on an unlimited basis (no sponsorship).
• Age 18 years or older.

Big Picture

You’ll be part of a great team that turns raw materials into hot‑rolled band steel while maintaining safety and quality standards. You might work in an area that handles raw materials, or you could be involved with melting, casting, and rolling.

Schedule and Free Time

Our schedules allow you to enjoy plenty of time off. You’ll work a 12‑hour shift for 3 or 4 days from 7am to 7pm for four weeks, then swing and work 12‑hour shifts 7pm to 7am for 3 or 4 days for another four weeks, then swing back to days. (48 hours one week; 36 hours the next. And each week, you’ll have either 3 or 4 days off.)

Compensation

Guaranteed to earn at least $50,000 in total compensation during your first year. You’ll receive a $2,000 sign‑on bonus for joining our team.
