The Operations Support Worker plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of public spaces within the city. This position is essential for promoting community pride and ensuring a safe environment for residents and visitors. Responsibilities include cutting grass, picking up litter, and cleaning city facilities, contributing to the overall quality of life in the community.
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
High school diploma or equivalent; at least one (1) year of experience in grounds maintenance, custodial work, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the stated requirements.
Physical Ability : Tasks require the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds).
Sensory Requirements : Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors : Essential functions are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
