Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, production leadership, materials, planning, or supply chain in metal stamping or automotive manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of metal stamping operations, automatic presses, dies, steel coil handling, and workflows.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (PowerShop, SAP, QAD, or similar), EDI, and automotive customer requirements.
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive packaging/shipping standards.
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain production schedules for stamping, welding, and secondary operations to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Coordinate the flow of steel coils, tooling, WIP, and finished goods throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Monitor inventory levels, material availability, and production capacity using the ERP/MRP system.
  • Collaborate with Production, Tool Room, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality to resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Coordinate inbound raw material deliveries and outbound customer shipments while maintaining on-time delivery.
  • Supervise Shipping & Receiving, Material Handling, Inventory Control, Production Scheduling, and assigned production personnel.
  • Monitor production performance and adjust schedules to minimize downtime and improve equipment utilization.
  • Support daily production execution by reviewing staffing, machine coverage, and schedule adherence.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving constraints related to labor, equipment, tooling, materials, and demand changes.
  • Promote accountability, safety, housekeeping, and standard work across teams.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity and material flow.
  • Analyze production and inventory data to identify trends and support business decisions.
  • Maintain compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and safety policies.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and Customer Service to address shortages and expedite orders.

The Operations Support Manager supports both production operations and materials management within a high-volume metal stamping environment. This role helps coordinate daily production priorities, production scheduling, material flow, inventory control, logistics, and customer delivery requirements. The position works closely with production supervisors and cross-functional leaders to support safe, efficient operations, maximize equipment utilization, minimize downtime, and ensure materials and production resources are aligned to meet business needs.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive packaging/shipping standards.
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to support production supervisors, manage daily priorities, communicate across departments, and drive accountability in a manufacturing environment.
