H Mart in Dallas is offering a paid, part-time fall internship (6 weeks). The program runs 3 days a week, 6 hours per day, from 9/8 to 10/6, focusing on leadership shadowing and hands-on store operations.

Interns will greet customers, assist with product inquiries, observe service techniques, support loyalty programs, and gain experience in inventory management, shelf displays, pricing, and back-end operations across departments.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at Dallas College in Business or relevant major.

Responsibilities

• Acquire knowledge of store operations policies, procedures, and professional competencies.
• Prepare a summary presentation or report on an operational area for management review.
• Attend department meetings and training sessions to develop subject matter expertise.
• Provide high-quality customer service by greeting customers and assisting with product inquiries.
• Observe and analyze customer service techniques, shadowing team members to learn how to identify customer needs, resolve conflicts, and demonstrate empathy.
• Assist with customer issues and help manage loyalty program rewards.
• Assist with inventory management, including FIFO rotation, stock efficiency, and using inventory tracking tools.
• Perform the arrangement and visual display of grocery items, fresh produce, and specialty goods to understand consumer psychology, shelf-space optimization, and inventory rotation.
• Monitor expiration dates and ensure accurate price labeling and organizational standards.
• Conduct regular store walks to identify and improve store conditions and stock efficiency.
• Observe produce, meat and seafood departments to learn the back-end operations of each department.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Leadership & Operational Shadowing

• Acquire knowledge of all relevant store operations policies, procedures, and professional competencies.
