Job summary

The Simplot Company is hiring for a warehouse associate role focused on loading fertilizers and chemicals, inventory, and recordkeeping. The job may require driving a forklift and performing maintenance tasks as needed.

Responsibilities include loading, blending fertilizer, monitoring applications, unloading products, and supporting related warehouse tasks. Overtime may occur during peak seasons.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• One plus years related experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of basic farm equipment and operation.

• Loading and delivering fertilizer and chemicals to customers.
• Operating equipment to blend fertilizer.
• Monitoring product application, calibrating equipment, and controlling application rates.
• Receiving and unloading product and performing warehouse inventory and storage functions.
• May assist with recordkeeping related to warehouse/inventory responsibilities.
• Perform maintenance tasks such as welding, pump and engine overhauls, painting, and housekeeping.
• Assist with special projects and training sessions; provide back-up as needed.
• Assist in loading/mixing/applying pesticides and understanding adjuvants and temperature/conditions.

Summary

Under general direction, this role performs a variety of job responsibilities which primarily include warehouse inventory, loading products, and record keeping. At times the employee will be required to drive a fork lift, tend to equipment/maintenance work, and operate the fertilizer blending systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Loading and delivering fertilizer and chemicals to customers.
• Operating equipment to blend fertilizer.
• Monitoring product application by calculating amounts, calibrating equipment, controlling application rates, and cleaning and storing equipment after application process.
• Receiving and unloading product and performing warehouse inventory and storage functions.
• May assist with recordkeeping related to warehouse/inventory responsibilities.
• Performs varied responsibilities such as: equipment and plant maintenance including welding, pump and engine overhauls, painting, and general housekeeping responsibilities.
• Miscellaneous duties such as assisting with special projects, attending training sessions, providing back-up when needed, etc.
• Assist in loading/mixing/applying pesticides, gaining understanding of the importance of including proper adjuvants, mixing order, temperature, other field/weather conditions potentially influencing application.
  

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• Valid driver's license
• One plus years related experience.
• Knowledge of basic farm equipment and operation.
• Ability to do a variety of tasks in succession, i.e., blending products together, loading a truck, and driving the truck to a farm.

Ag-Industry Hours - overtime in peak season as required.
