Job summary

Univar Solutions in Chester, VA seeks a Branch Operations Supervisor to lead daily branch activities, coordinate transportation and warehouse tasks, and ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and customer-focused service.

You will work with the Branch Operations Manager to maintain a productive team, monitor performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement within the facility. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• Supervisory leadership and ability to communicate with and motivate employees
• Analytical skills to track, record and report department production
• Experience with performance metrics and process improvement
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Excel and Word
• High level of decision-making ability; balance customer needs and company objectives
• Strong organization skills with ability to handle diverse workload
• Knowledge of chemical distribution facility operation and related regulatory frameworks

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the branch including transportation, warehouse and tank farm
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and complete required training, documentation and record keeping
• Support sales efforts consistent with corporate standards and compliance
• Conduct safety audits and incident investigations with root-cause analysis
• Manage branch performance reporting and cost/productivity opportunities
• Supervise daily branch activities and ensure staff have tools and training
• Handle branch administration, inspections, and paperwork
• Support meeting customer requirements and fulfill orders cost-effectively
• Coordinate inventory management including cycle counts and repack/transport functions
• Drive process improvements and maintain a safe, efficient operation
