Job summary

Athens Services in California is seeking an Operations Supervisor to manage waste collection routes and oversee driver and helper performance daily, ensuring adequate resources to meet demands and safety standards.

You will ride along, coach drivers on productivity and safety per OSHA and DOT rules, coordinate with maintenance and sales, monitor hours to satisfy regulatory limits, and help manage budgets and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or G.E.D., 1–2 years of management experience, Proficient in Microsoft Office, Knowledgeable in Federal DOT regulations, OSHA standards, Exceptional leadership, Physical capability.

Responsibilities

• Plans, distributes, monitors, and follows-up daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per Company standards and agreements.
• Ensures drivers are available and assigned daily, covering last minute call-ins with spare drivers or other resources.
• Coordinates daily operational needs with Maintenance team.
• Coordinates efforts with Operations Manager to ensure proper utilization of resources and route adjustments.
• Monitors time and attendance, minimizing overtime and ensuring compliance with regulatory limits.
• Assists in maintenance budget performance.
• Monitors over weight loads and provides guidance to reduce loads.
• Monitors pre-trip and post-trip inspections on work force vehicles.
• Performs disciplinary actions when required.
• Performs weekly safety meetings.
