Job summary

Heritage Auctions seeks an Operations Supervisor in Beverly Hills to oversee day-to-day movement, handling, storage and inventory of consigned property. You will supervise staff and coordinate with specialists, photographers, catalogers, and the Dallas headquarters to ensure safe, accurate processing throughout the consignment cycle.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 2+ years of supervisory experience, and proficiency with Excel/Outlook.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, military training, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience supervising personnel.
• Experience in operations, logistics, shipping, inventory management, warehousing, fine art, collectibles, or related environment preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Excel.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills; valid driver’s license.
• Spanish-language proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Operations staff, including shippers, packers, and consignment coordinators.
• Plan and manage processing, storage, packing, and shipment of consigned property to Dallas HQ and other Heritage locations.
• Coordinate office relocations and special projects as needed.
• Oversee entry, tagging, verification, and inventory control of property.
• Establish storage locations for property awaiting shipment or disposition.
• Maintain flow of property to photographers, catalogers, specialists, and other departments.
• Ensure property can be located and retrieved; oversee safe packing and movement of fragile items.
• Train staff in handling, packing, moving, and safety procedures.
• Maintain organized, secure storage areas and manage packing materials.
• Coordinate boxing/crating and loading/unloading of shipments.
• Oversee movement and disposition of sold, unsold, and returned property.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and controls.
• Identify improvements to workflow, storage, and security.
• Resolve issues and address client concerns promptly.
• Prepare monthly productivity and operational reports for management.
• Report directly to the Managing Director.
