Job summary

AMIkids is seeking a Director of Operations in Georgetown, SC to lead Youth Care Specialists and Supervisors, ensuring policies and procedures are followed. The role oversees daily operations and safety within a secure environment, guiding staff and youth toward positive outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least one year of supervisory experience, preferably in educational or youth services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Education or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience (2 years preferred).
• Minimum 1 year experience in an educational or youth service program, preferably with troubled youth.

Responsibilities

• Supervise youth and staff according to policies, serving as advisor and role model.
• Coordinate daily staffing schedule to ensure coverage within required ratios.
• Oversee program activities, field trips, and youth-to-staff ratios per contractual requirements.
• Enforce safety and security policies; conduct searches as needed.
• De-escalate incidents and communicate with leadership as required.
• Foster effective communication and positive cooperation among youth and team members.
• Lead staff meetings and provide ongoing training for growth and development.
• Provide performance feedback for direct reports and participate in recruitment.

We seek a Director of Operations to provide leadership to the Youth Care Specialists and direct care Supervisors to ensure alignment with established Program operations policies, procedures and protocol. Provide supervision for youth served in a safe and secure environment. Assist in the management of the day-to-day operations of the Program.

What you will be doing:

• Supervise youth and staff in accordance with established policies and procedures, serving as an advisor and positive role model,
• Coordinate daily staffing schedule; ensure coverage is maintained within required ratio,
• Oversee/supervise Program activities and field trips; ensure appropriate youth to staff ratio in accordance with contractual requirements,
• Execute/oversee and adhere to established safety and security policies and procedures; conduct youth and property searches for unauthorized items,
• De-escalate youth altercations and incidents, using authorized methods and notify leadership,
• Establish effective interpersonal communication skills encouraging positive cooperation; and increasing Team Member's successful and meaningful interactions with youth,
• Plan and conduct regular staff meetings to include interactive open communication for the dissemination of information,
• Provide on-going training and development opportunities for Team Members, to include continued development regarding effective communication with youth,
• Provide constructive feedback and evaluate performance of direct reports for Team Member's continued growth,
• May act as liaison between internal and external stakeholders,
• Participate in recruiting process.

Role requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Education or related field;
• Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience, two (2) years preferred,
• Minimum of one (1) year experience within an educational or youth service program, preferably working with troubled youth.
