Job summary

Danfoss Power Solutions in Van Wert, OH is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead production operations on the 3rd shift, drive safety, quality, and efficiency, and build a world-class team.

You will translate strategy into action, manage daily activities, and foster a culture of continuous improvement while collaborating with customers and internal teams to achieve outstanding results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a supervisory role.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• ITAR requires U.S. persons (citizens, permanent residents, asylees or refugees).

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities of all employees with metrics to track performance.
• Ensure adequate equipment is available and used safely to conduct business.
• Enforce policies and apply leadership techniques for fair treatment of all staff.
• Identify methods to improve efficiency, quality, service and operating profits.
• Develop relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors and internal teams for best results.
• Train and audit daily safety practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Communicate Danfoss best practices, ethics, values and philosophy across the organization.

Are you a leader who excels at turning strategy into action? Danfoss is seeking a dedicated Operations Supervisor for our Van Wert, OH facility to oversee our production operations and cultivate a world-class team.

As a key member of our operational leadership, you will not only manage the day-to-day but also shape the very culture of our production floor. You will be empowered to ensure that every decision is process-driven and every action is aligned with our strategic goals. This will be a 3rd shift position.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage the daily activities of all employees. Maintain adequate metrics to ensure levels of performance are known and improved upon.
• Ensure that adequate equipment is available and implemented safely to adequately and efficiently conduct business.
• Implement and enforce all policies, practices, and benefits and employ effective leadership techniques and employee relations activities to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all people working at the facility.
• Identify and implement methods and practices to achieve steady improvement in efficiency, quality, service and continuous improvement in operating profits.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors and key intra-company people to effectively manage the operation for best results.
• Ensure through training and daily audits that safe practices are constantly employed throughout the department.
• Regularly communicate and demonstrate Danfoss best practices, ethics, values and philosophy such that these cultural attributes are incorporated throughout the organization.

What We’re Looking For

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a supervisory role.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business.
• Experience with lean, six sigma, and/or continuous improvement.
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Bilingual – English (primary) & Spanish
