Job summary

Danfoss is seeking a Distribution Supervisor for our Van Wert, OH distribution center to lead a 2nd shift and drive safe, efficient operations. You will manage a team, uphold policies, and build strong in-house and external partnerships while focusing on continuous improvement.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of supervisory experience, with preferred candidates having 3+ years in a similar setting and experience with SAP/TMS. ITAR considerations apply for U.S. workers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; plus leadership experience in a supervisory role.
• Preference for Engineering or Business degree and manufacturing background.
• Experience with lean, six sigma, or continuous improvement programs welcomed.
• Proficiency with SAP and TMS systems is a plus.
• MS Office proficiency and bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

• Ensure equipment availability and safe operations to run the business efficiently.
• Implement and enforce policies, practices, and employee relations for fair treatment.
• Identify and drive improvements in efficiency, quality, service, and operating profits.
• Develop strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams for optimal results.
• Provide training and conduct daily audits to ensure safe practices are followed.

Are you a passionate and experienced leader ready to make an impact? Danfoss is looking for a dedicated Distribution Supervisor to guide our talented team and oversee operations at our Van Wert, OH distribution center.

As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient management of your shift. You will play a vital role in ensuring we meet our commitments to customers while fostering a safe and motivating environment for our employees. This will be a 2nd shift position.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage the daily activities of all employees. Maintain adequate metrics to ensure levels of performance are known and improved upon.
• Ensure that adequate equipment is available and implemented safely so as to adequately and efficiently conduct business.
• Implement and enforce all policies, practices, and benefits and employ effective leadership techniques and employee relation’s activities to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all people working at the facility.
• Identify and implement methods and practices to achieve steady improvement in efficiency, quality, service and continuous improvement in operating profits.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors and key intra-company people to effectively manage the operation for best results.
• Ensure through training and daily audits that safe practices are constantly employed throughout the facility.
• Regularly communicate and demonstrate Danfoss Behaviors, ethics, and values.

What We're Looking For

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business.
• Experience with lean, six sigma, and/or continuous improvement.
• Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience.
• Proficient in MS Office
• Experience with SAP and TMS
• Experience in a fast paced Distribution Center
• Bilingual – English (primary) & Spanish
