Job summary

Danfoss Power Solutions is seeking a Lead Engineer for Continuous Improvement at the Cleveland, OH site. You will lead Lean manufacturing initiatives, drive cross‑functional improvement projects, and mentor teams to enhance safety, efficiency, and financial performance.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working in a lean manufacturing program.
  • Experience with Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and implementation of the site’s Continuous Improvement strategy.
  • Drive improvement activities including Kaizen events and Six Sigma projects.
  • Provide Lean and Six Sigma training and mentoring.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate lean initiatives and standards.
  • Monitor KPIs and drive corrective actions to deviations.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in process improvement initiatives.

The Impact You'll Make

Now is a great time to join our Power Solutions Team in Brooklyn! We are seeking to hire an experiencedContinuous Improvement Engineer (Change Agent) who will be responsible for managing the Lean manufacturing initiatives in our Brooklyn, OH facility. The incumbent will utilize robust problem-solving techniques to drive improvements in the organization’s safety, operational performance, customer service levels, and overall financial health.

What You’ll Be Doing

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Works with the leadership team to lead the development and implementation of the site’s Continuous Improvement strategy, actions, cross‑functional activities, and lean culture
  • Drives improvement activities including training, mentoring, facilitating Kaizen events, Six Sigma projects, tool deployment, benchmarking, etc.
  • Provides site Lean and Six Sigma training and mentoring.
  • Ensure cooperation and compliance with corporate lean initiative and divisional guidelines and standards
  • Provide input, distribute and follow‑up on lean manufacturing targets
  • Closely monitor the KPI’s and ensure corrective actions on deviations to the plan
  • Lead the roll‑out of lean activities/programs
  • Work with employees to achieve productivity improvements that support the operating budget/targets improvement targets that meet or exceed Danfoss Drives’ targets
  • Work with the organization to ensure lean concepts and tools are used in daily work
  • Support manufacturing engineering team with projects and daily initiatives
  • Continue to develop personal skills in the application of lean tools and the overall competencies
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or Operations Management
  • 3 years’ experience working in an extensive lean manufacturing program
  • Experience in MRP II Systems, SAP preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Results oriented with track record of delivering bottom‑line improvements
  • Team leadership and development skills

Job Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in Lean and Six Sigma manufacturing methodology, techniques and roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in continuous improvement methods, strategic management, project management and an ability to have fun while successfully deploying the tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, proven capability to lead change in a team environment
  • Thorough understanding of problem‑solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in various software applications like MS Office suite, SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing principles and technical specifications to support plant competencies.
  • Ability to direct and lead cross‑functional process improvement teams across teams.
