Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling Inc. is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead Drivers, Collection Specialists, Lead Drivers, and Dispatchers in daily collection operations. You’ll own staffing, coach employees, and uphold safety while delivering reliable service.

You will promote safety, coordinate with multiple departments, and drive operational excellence to ensure routes are completed safely and efficiently. Strong leadership and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in transportation, logistics, waste management, recycling, environmental services, construction, manufacturing, mining, aggregates, or another operational environment.
• Passion for developing people and building high-performing teams.
• Strong communication, coaching, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Commitment to safety, operational excellence, and customer service.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Waste industry experience, CDL, bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole), and experience with Trux or Workday are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing operations team.
• Own staffing of the operation by partnering with the Career Path team to recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and retain top talent.
• Conduct daily crew-outs, crew-ins, and safety huddles for a safe day.
• Promote a strong safety culture through coaching, observations, ride-alongs, and safety initiatives.
• Monitor route execution and make real-time operational decisions for safety and efficiency.
• Partner with other supervisors to balance workloads and share resources.
• Coach employees through performance feedback and development to prepare future leaders.
• Collaborate with Customer Experience, Dispatch, Fleet Maintenance, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Resolve operational challenges and customer concerns with a solutions-focused mindset.
