Job summary

Central Transport is seeking an operations supervisor in Stoughton, MA to lead outbound activities within a 44-door facility. You will manage loading, forklift movement, and palletized freight while directing up to 30 drivers and dock personnel to meet schedules.

The role requires strong leadership, a focus on safety, and a high comfort level with technology. A degree is preferred but not required; on-site work lifestyle is typical for this team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outbound operations for a 44-door freight facility segment.
• Manage loading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight sorting.
• Direct up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
• Relay information between drivers, vendors, and Terminal Managers.
• Review routes to increase efficiency and adapt to workload changes.
• Use independent judgment to build loads based on labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load and safe trailer cube/weight handling.
• Provide leadership and accountability to drivers and dock staff.
• Monitor dock production and KPI goals; manage hours and overtime.
• Maintain safe, DOT/OSHA-compliant work environment.

Shift: 10:00am - 8:00pm, Monday - Friday

Salary: Up to $75,000 + quarterly bonus

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Experience in a transportation, cross docking, or shipping and receiving environment (preferably within the LTL industry).
• Familiar with customs and cross-border transportation
• Strong leadership qualities
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• An Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee outbound operations within a 44-door freight facility for your designated section of the dock.
• This includes the process of loading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
• Relaying critical information between drivers and our vendors/Terminal Managers
• Review and revise driver routes to increase efficiencies while monitoring a changing workload
• Utilizing your independent judgement to build loads based on available labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring the cube and weight of trailers
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded.
• Monitor hours and overtime.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure company operational model compliance.
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
