Job summary

A logistics services provider in Michigan is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead and optimize warehouse activities. You will supervise personnel, ensure productivity and quality standards, and assist with training and development. Job description

Department: Fulfillment Center, Type: Full Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Works with Operations Manager and Account Management team to plan daily activities
  • Determines appropriate production methods and labor levels to meet service deliverables
  • Reviews master production schedule and work orders to prioritize/revise workforce to maximize availability and meet expectations
  • Supervises all operations personnel to ensure maximum productivity, efficiency, and accuracy
  • Ensures all lines are properly set up and that materials are in position for a prompt start-up at the beginning of each shift
  • Ensures all employees understand their specific duties at the beginning of each shift start-up
  • Run WMS reports for open, pending, and rush orders
  • Review Operation Margins Monthly
  • Checks work throughout the day to ensure proper assembly and adherence to the shipping schedule
  • Assists with candidate selection by interviewing, hiring, and training
  • Guides employees by assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees
  • Reviews team and individual productivity regularly
  • Work on continuous improvement functions to improve cost
  • Supports and maintains all corporate quality standards, policies, procedures, and work instructions as outlined in the company quality system documentation
  • Provides a safe working environment through adherence to OSHA regulations and to all company health and safety policies and procedures
  • Works with Human Resources as a team on issues, employee development, safety, and communications
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years ofrelated experience with knowledge of receiving, shipping, product fulfillment, and inventory control.
  • Experience with standard warehousing procedures and practices
  • Previous leadership experience preferred, including coaching and development of employees
  • Ability to determine priorities, make decisions, and organize merchandise necessary to create an organized operation
  • Ability to work independently and in teams with strong communication skills
