Human Resources Generalist at Courier Express

Courier Express is seeking an Operations Supervisor / Transportation

Courier Express is looking for a team player with strong operations experience in a fast-paced environment, capable of coordinating multiple facets of the business. This role involves working alongside the Operations Manager as an Operations Assistant and collaborating with the Driver Recruiter on independent contractor recruiting, driver coordination, and development.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 4:00 am – 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm

Primary Job Duties

• Lead warehouse staff in daily operations and departmental functions.
• Ensure delivery assignments are completed and documented.
• Oversee proper uniforming and training of Independent Contractors.
• Resolve customer and delivery issues.
• Supervise large accounts to monitor delivery status and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and safe warehouse environment.
• Review driver performance weekly, including cargo loss and claims.
• Ensure smooth operations at the location to meet service expectations.
• Establish and maintain performance and productivity standards.
• Manage operational costs and strive for efficiency.
• Maintain high service levels with customers.
• Create goals and action plans for operations.
• Promote positive employee relations and enforce safety and compliance standards.
• Provide management with operational feedback.

Secondary Job Duties

• Coordinate and contract new drivers, including advertising, interviewing, background checks, and orientation.
• Act as liaison between drivers and management to resolve issues.
• Coordinate with operations managers regarding driver needs.

Qualifications

Preferred: College degree and 2+ years of managerial experience in Transportation, Courier, or Distribution.
