Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
• Minimum of 1 year trade experience at Electric Boat or 3 years combined relevant experience and leadership experience in a high-volume setting.
• 2nd shift availability required.
• Nuclear qualifications and submarine knowledge preferred.
• AS/BS degree preferred.

The successful candidate must provide technical assistance and overall direction to a team of hourly representative employees. Core to this position is the successful performance of the team's safety, quality, cost, schedule and continuous improvement.

This position of Operations Supervisor provides a platform to gain a working knowledge of various manufacturing environments and their relationships with other parts of Electric Boat business. • Lead the activities of approximately 15 piping trades employees in the performance of preparing, assembling and installing equipment on-board submarines

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance

Must Meet One Of The Following

• Minimum of 1 year trade experience at electric boat
• Minimum of 3 year combined relevant experience and leadership experience in a high-volume setting
• Minimum of 1 year EB experience and an Engineering degree in a related field

Preferred

• College/technical school AS/BS degree
• Minimum of 3 years pipe-fitting experience
• 3 years of shipyard experience
• Previous supervisory experience
• Previous related Military/Navy experience
• Nuclear qualifications
• Knowledge of 688, VIRGINIA, and COLUMBIA class submarines
• Radcon qualifications

Skills

• Have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, procedures, and related reference documents
• Have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with subordinates and supervisors
• Must be able to work all assigned shifts
• Must be able to work extended hours
• Must be able to go on road assignments as business needs dictate
• Applicant must obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance as a condition of employment
• Capable of reading, interpreting and putting into effect plans, procedures and instructions
• Good presentation skills and attention to detail preferred
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Power Point preferred
