Job summary

GEODIS in Buford, GA is hiring an Operations Supervisor Final Mile to support dock operations, dispatch, and contractor management. You will help run the client’s dock, verify manifests, and ensure on-time truck dispatch while maintaining safety and service standards.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years in final mile or distribution operations, with preference for lead/dispatcher experience and familiarity with DispatchTrack or similar routing tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of related final mile, warehouse, or distribution center experience.
• Prior lead, dispatcher, or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience working with independent contractors or third-party carriers preferred.
• Experience with delivery management or routing software (e.g., DispatchTrack) preferred.
• PC literate with experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in running loadout on the client's dock, including staging freight, verifying manifests, and ensuring trucks are dispatched on time.
• Support the Assistant Operations Manager in daily stand-ups with independent contractors, communicating route assignments and safety topics.
• Monitor dispatch operations, track routes, escalate exceptions, and communicate with field drivers.
• Provide first-line response to client issues during the day; escalate as needed to management.
• Oversee contractor end-of-day check-in, including paperwork review and returns reconciliation.
• Maintain records in delivery management platform (DispatchTrack), including routes and exceptions.
• Assist with independent contractor recruiting, onboarding paperwork, and compliance tracking.
• Cover operation in absence of managers to ensure dock/dispatch/customer service continuity.
• Enforce company and customer policies, including safety and service standards.
• Identify and suggest process improvements to the Assistant Operations Manager.

Your role on the team:

• Assists in running loadout on the client's dock, including staging freight, verifying manifests, and ensuring trucks are dispatched on time
• Supports the Assistant Operations Manager in conducting daily stand-up with independent contractors, communicating route assignments, service expectations, and safety topics
• Monitors dispatch operations throughout the day, tracking routes, escalating exceptions, and maintaining communication with drivers in the field
• Provides first-line response to client and customer issues during the operating day, escalating to the Assistant Manager or Senior Manager when required
• Oversees contractor end-of-day check-in, including paperwork review, undelivered product reconciliation, and the product returns process
• Maintains accurate records in the delivery management platform (e.g., DispatchTrack), including route completion, exceptions, and returns
• Assists with independent contractor recruiting activities, including onboarding paperwork, orientation, and tracking compliance documentation
• Covers the operation in the absence of the Assistant Operations Manager or Senior Manager, ensuring continuity of dock, dispatch, and customer service execution
• Enforces company and customer policies and procedures, including safety, uniform, and service standards
• Identifies and recommends process improvements to the Assistant Operations Manager

Requirements
