We are looking for an Operations Superintendent to join Kaiser Aluminum Warrick Operations in Newburgh, Indiana.
Responsibilities
- Ingot casting and melting operations
- Ensuring environmental, health, and safety results
- Productivity improvements, employee development, and maximizing the value of diversity
- Customer delivery through implementation of Lean manufacturing principles, including daily management, TPM, 5S, etc.
- Consistent implementation and execution of policies and systems to guarantee customer (internal and external) expectations are met at the lowest cost while keeping safety at the forefront of every activity
Qualifications
- Lead by example, set expectations, follow up, identify barriers, and put corrective actions in place while holding people accountable
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing or processing industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Business, or another 4‑year degree
- Excellent communication skills with proven ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
- Influential and flexible leadership with experience encouraging and championing a diverse workforce
- Ability to lead and develop the team, building a culture of ownership, engagement, and empowerment
- Willingness and ability to take ownership of the production center and the team
- Forward‑thinking regarding continuous improvement plans (Hoshin)
- Ability to encourage and enable leadership development among the team
- Sound understanding and experience of project management working to cost and schedule metrics
- Excellent analysis and problem‑solving skills
- Minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience with responsibility for labor issues within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a union environment
