Job summary

ABF Freight, an ArcBest company, is seeking a motivated student for an Internship in Operations Strategy. You will assist with researching and designing capacity and demand planning models to improve forecasting, costing, and operational efficiency.

You will learn how assets like equipment, labor, technology, and facilities interact with business levels, and you will model network capacity and demand trends while applying Lean Six Sigma principles to business cases.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an engineering or technical degree.
• No prior work experience required.
• Understanding of engineering principles and statistics.

Responsibilities

• Learn relationships between assets and business levels and model capacity and demand trends.
• Support network capacity and demand forecasting through models.
• Research technologies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
• Assist in shipment costing guidance and costing model inputs.
• Evaluate measurement systems for process improvement.
• Contribute to ad-hoc analytics projects as needed by leadership.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma tools in business cases.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
