Clipboard is a remote-first company building a healthcare marketplace that connects professionals with care sites across the U.S. The Operations Strategy Associate role is a generalist position for all‑around athletes who want broad exposure and impact, with opportunities to lead projects and grow into leadership roles.

You’ll analyze data, evaluate tools, and design processes to boost efficiency and customer experience, collaborating with Operations, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of work or internship experience in strategy/ops, product, or analytics.
• Experience solving operational problems by improving processes and workflows.
• Strong analytical skills using data (SQL, Python) to diagnose problems.
• Clear written and verbal communication; able to align stakeholders.
• Curiosity and ability to reason from first principles.
• Hands-on mindset—willing to test and verify features with the source.

Responsibilities

• Analyze operational data to spot trends and bottlenecks and translate findings into recommendations.
• Research and evaluate new tools (AI, automation, internal systems) and drive adoption.
• Design processes and workflows to improve efficiency, quality, and customer experience.
• Lead cross-functional projects from planning to execution with multiple teams.
• Own select projects such as changing payment methods, onboarding AI agents, early risk payer identification, and improving team performance.

Overview

The Operations Strategy Associate role is a generalist position for "all-around athletes" who want exposure to a wide range of problems. You're resourceful, adaptable, and confident you can figure things out once you dig in, and you're eager to flex across different roles depending on where you can make the most impact.

Some hires start in more execution-focused roles within Operations, while others take on project or team leadership sooner, depending on their strengths. For those who show the aptitude and interest, people management can be a possible growth path. And we'll make one promise: the work will be high-impact and fast-paced, with a direct effect on our customers, product, and business.

What you’ll Be Doing

• Analyze operational data to spot trends and bottlenecks, and turn your findings into clear recommendations that guide business decisions.

• Research and evaluate new tools, including AI, automation, and internal systems, and drive their adoption to make operations more effective.

• Design processes, workflows, and operating procedures that improve efficiency, quality, and customer experience

• Lead cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives from planning through execution, partnering with Operations, Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and other teams.

Here are a few projects you might own:

• Redesign how we reach out to workplaces about switching payment methods, such as moving check-paying customers to eCheck, to speed up cash collection.

• Research, vet, and onboard a vendor that brings AI agents into our customer-facing operations.

• Work with our Data team to identify high-risk payers early, so we can act before payments go overdue

• Take over a team of agents within one of our Operations teams and improve its performance, quality, and workflows.

What you’ll Need

• 2+ years of work or internship experience, including but not limited to cross-functional roles such as Strategy/Business/Product Operations, Program Management, Consultancy or Business Analytics.

• Experience solving operational problems by improving processes, designing workflows, or building scalable systems, while juggling multiple priorities in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

• Strong analytical skills, with comfort using data (e.g., SQL, Python) to diagnose problems and support decisions.

• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex problems simply and align stakeholders across teams.

• A deep curiosity that drives you to reason from first principles and dig until you find the root cause.

• The habit of rolling up your sleeves and going to the source. You don't just take someone's word for it; you find out for yourself by testing the feature, listening to the agent call, calling the customer, or running the workflow.
