Job summary

Zimmer Biomet in Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ, seeks a Senior Operations Planner to drive daily/shift level production schedules and maintain plan integrity. You will communicate changes to manufacturing and central supply chain while supporting patient safety and quality in all activities.

The role requires 5+ years in supply chain or planning, with CPIM/CSCP and ERP experience preferred. You will collaborate across the site and with central teams to optimize production processes and inventory

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in supply chain, planning, or IT systems; multi-area experience preferred.
• CPIM or CSCP preferred.
• Experience with medical devices preferred.
• Experience with one or more ERP system required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and modify the production schedule and communicate it to manufacturing operations.
• Analyze master production schedule for capability gaps to create daily and shift level plans.
• Receive updates and take action on plan changes for high-impact events.
• Conduct capability reviews and communicate parameter changes.
• Serve as primary contact for site planning questions and follow-up items.
• Drive continual improvement of planning practices for best-in-class production planning.
• Collaborate across production planning to ensure standard processes.
• Communicate with E2E planner about supply disruptions or schedule changes.
• Monitor BOM integrity and inventory accuracy; monitor routings and work center capacities.

What You Can Expect

A Senior Operations Planner helps to drive production related planning activity at their site. This involves synthesizing various inputs in order to develop a daily/shift level production schedule, which will serve as the primary driver for the production facility. Additionally, the production schedule must be maintained and updated to reflect production misses, overages, requests from central supply chain planning for changes, etc. The Senior Operations Planner must also communicate changes to the plant, and to central supply chain in order to maintain reliable production plans. In doing so, this position helps Zimmer Biomet commit to the highest standards of patient safety and quality in our products and services and to world-class and ethical business practices.

How You'll Create Impact

Strategy & Vision

• Maintains and modifies the production schedule, and communicates it to manufacturing operations and others, as necessary

Operations

• Analyze the master production schedule from central supply chain for capability gaps to create the daily and shift level production plans
• Receive communication and action on updated plan relating to high impact events
• Conduct capability reviews, and communicate parameter changes across the organization
• Act as a primary point of contact for other branches of Supply Chain, to take questions related to site planning, and execute on follow up items
• Lead change in the continual improvement of planning practices to ensure best in class production planning capability of individual plant, and Zimmer Biomet as a whole
• Collaborate within the production planning function to ensure standard process
• Communicate with E2E planner regarding supply disruptions or changes to the master production schedule
• Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy
• Monitor the integrity of the routings and work center capacities, updating as necessary

What Makes You Stand Out

• Advanced Knowledge of supply chain planning and management; including but not limited to forecasting, master scheduling, inventory and associated performance management
• Strong communication skills

• Strong understanding of end to end supply chain interactions, activities, and underlying interdependencies
• Previous experience and ability to use analytical tools to issue, support, and execute decisions

Your Background

• BS or BA in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or other related field
• 5+ years of experience in supply chain, project management, planning, or IT systems, strongly preferred to have experience in multiple areas
• CPIM or CSCP preferred
• Planning experience preferred
• Experience with medical devices preferred
• Experience with one or more ERP system required
