Job summary

Zimmer Biomet is seeking an engineering leader to guide manufacturing and facilities operations in Indiana. You will define facility needs with operations, quality, manufacturing engineers and maintenance, and oversee installation of new equipment and processes.

You will hire and mentor direct reports, coordinate IQ/OQ/PQ projects, participate in CAPA, audits, and annual budgeting. Travel about 10% domestically is expected, with a focus on GMP and ISO 13485 compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or science is required.
  • 7+ years of progressive engineering experience including 3 years or more with direct reports is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering experience including 3 years or more with direct reports is preferred.

What You Can Expect

Help support the operations organization by providing manufacturing and engineering knowledge and a continuous improvement mindset to help solve various challenges within the business. This will include leading projects, supporting the day-to-day within a regulated environment, and managing cross-functional partnerships to help align on goals and meet company objectives.

How You'll Create Impact
  • Define facility needs with operations, quality, manufacturing engineers and maintenance personnel
  • Hire, train, and have oversight responsibility for direct reports and facility maintenance personnel
  • Oversee details for installation of new equipment, process and products
  • Coordinating outside contractors and vendors; Write purchase orders as required
  • Coordinate IQ, OQ & PQ projects with Engineers, Operations and Materials Management Personnel
  • Play key role in manufacturing and engineering annual budget submission
  • Oversee manufacturing processes performance and trends
  • Participate in CAPA
  • Participate in facility and product audits both internal and outside agencies
  • Perform plant and process tours as required
  • Facilities’ future upgrades, modifications and capacity expansions
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Experience managing project budgets and monitoring progress per budget goal
  • Vendor management experience with hands-on external negotiations
  • Raw Material manufacturing, investment casting, polymer molding, or bio-materials fabrication experiences to GMP
  • Knowledge or experience with ISO 13485 requirements a plus (med device)
  • Experience leading both exempt and non-exempt employees
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, or science is required

Travel Expectations
  • Approximately 10% domestic travel expected
