TradeWind Services is seeking an Operations Specialist 2 based in Los Alamos, NM, to build relationships and coordinate readiness activities that support operational needs.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of related experience. You will participate in facility walkdowns and help ensure work products meet DOE and Client requirements. The expected salary range is $115k to $175k per year, depending on experience, along with a selection of exceptional benefits.

Position Overview:

TradeWind Services is seeking an Operations Specialist 2 that can build strong working relationships, coordinate complex readiness activities, evaluate field conditions, and turn operational needs into clear, effective work products. The role involves regular collaboration with facility personnel, participation in facility and area walkdowns, support for assessments, and coordination of readiness activities with operational and programmatic customers. The specialist also develops and maintains documentation that supports operational readiness, clear communication, and effective execution. The position offers broad exposure to facility operations and the opportunity to see the direct effect of your work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build productive working relationships with facility, programming, and operational personnel.
• Coordinate project activities, schedules, deliverables, and action tracking across multiple organizations.
• Participate in facility and area walkdowns to understand operating conditions and identify ready-made needs.
• Support assessments and help evaluate whether operational requirements have been effectively implemented.
• Serve as a central coordination point for facility and programmatic customers.
• Gather information from subject-matter experts and convert operational needs into practical plans, communications, procedures, and other controlled documents.
• Research and apply effective practices in operational readiness, process improvement, and procedure development.
• Help ensure work products meet applicable DOE and Client requirements.
• Communicate WFO activities and needs through written, verbal, and visual media projects under dynamic conditions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• This position may be subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities. This DOE Order establishes entry-level requirements to ensure employees in the positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.
• DOE Q Clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to learn and implement DOE Orders and Procedures pertinent to nuclear facility operations.
• Intermediate-level knowledge and experience with working and updating project schedules.
• Intermediate-level knowledge and experience with business systems (Oracle, UTrain, PDMLink, etc.).
• Intermediate-level knowledge and experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
