Job summary

Apple is seeking an Operations Reliability Engineer to guide design and production teams toward reliable product components and systems. This role emphasizes identifying high-risk failure modes early in the life cycle and mitigating them before ramp.

You will lead ORT activities, collaborate with design and failure analysis teams, and act as a gatekeeper for reliability risk during ramp and production. Strong data analytics and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in reliability testing (shock, drop, vibration) and fatigue testing.
• Experience with Failure Analysis methods and material characterization.
• BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Reliability, Materials, Optical, Industrial).
• Knowledge of DOE and FMEA methodologies.
• Strong statistics and data analytics skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and multi-project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational readiness activities to ramp from prototypes to full production.
• Drive cross-functional focus to resolve reliability issues and ensure root cause addressed.
• Be gatekeeper of reliability risk during ramp and production.
• Lead Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT) for scale-up of validated designs.
• Collaborate with teams to improve factory detection and reliability tests.
• Develop new testing methods and leverage big data/ML for early warning systems.
• Travel up to 20% as needed.
