Job summary

Saint-Gobain Life Sciences is seeking a Portage site leader for operations quality and continuous improvement to drive day-to-day quality performance, resolve customer and production issues, and deliver sustained reliability of products and processes.

This role focuses on CAPA, deviation management, complaint resolution, and rigorous investigations, while strengthening right-first-time execution across Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain, and developing quality talent for the Medical

Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience leading Quality Operations in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • 7+ years progressive experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or Operational Excellence.
  • 5+ years direct people leadership, coaching and talent development for hourly/exempt staff.
  • 2+ years experience supporting or leading multi-site or shared-site quality oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Portage site's quality operations and continuous improvement agenda.
  • Ensure CAPA effectiveness, deviation and nonconformance management, and investigation rigor.
  • Strengthen right-first-time performance through root cause analysis and data-driven decisions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional execution with Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain.
  • Develop quality talent and embed quality into daily decision-making across Medical Business.

Job description

WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

This role is the Portage site’s primary leader for operations quality and continuous improvement, responsible for ensuring day-to-day manufacturing quality performance, resolving customer and production quality issues, and driving sustained improvements in product and process reliability.

The role owns execution of core quality outcomes at the site, including CAPA effectiveness, deviation and nonconformance management, complaint resolution, and investigation rigor. A central focus is strengthening right-first-time performance through disciplined root cause analysis and data-driven problem solving, while improving cross-functional execution between Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain.

The role also serves as the key quality interface for customers and escalations in Portage and the shared sites supporting Medical tubing, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues that impact product quality or customer experience. In parallel, it leads and embeds continuous improvement efforts across Portage and our medical tubing sites to reduce variability, improve KPIs, and build more robust and scalable operating processes. Beyond operational execution, the role develops quality talent, strengthens quality ownership across the Medical Business, and builds a culture where quality is integrated into daily decision-making rather than treated as a standalone function.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
  • 7 + years experience with Quality Operations leadership role with direct accountability for day to day quality performance.
  • 7 + years progressive experience with in Quality, Manufacturing, or Operational Excellence within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • 5 + years direct experience with direct people leadership, including coaching, performance management, and talent development for hourly and exempt employee levels
  • 5 + years experience managing people and other leaders
  • 2 + years experience supporting or leading multi site or shared site quality oversight
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Science/Technical related field or other BA/BS program may be considered if the applicant has successfully completed fundamental math and science coursework.
