Job summary

Saint-Gobain seeks an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for our Portage, WI facility. You will lead the EHS strategy, partner with plant leadership, and champion safety culture across the site.

You will drive regulatory compliance, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement, with responsibilities spanning training, incident investigations, and cross-site collaboration to elevate safety performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Safety Sciences is required; Master’s preferred.
  • CSP Certification within the last 3 years preferred.
  • COSS Certification within the last 3 years preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment with a proven track record of reducing occupational injuries and maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with a strong safety background and OSHA/federal and state reporting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs at the Portage site.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Develop and maintain ISO-based EHS management systems.
  • Manage site permits and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Create and deliver EHS training programs and drive safety culture.
  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with other sites to share best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Are you a passionate EHS leader who thrives on building a culture where safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement come first? We're seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to champion our EHS strategy and programs at our Portage manufacturing facility.

In this high-impact leadership role, you'll partner with plant leadership, employees, and corporate stakeholders to create and sustain a world-class safety culture. You'll have the opportunity to influence every aspect of the operation, ensuring regulatory compliance, driving environmental stewardship, and empowering employees to take ownership of workplace safety.

What You'll Do

As the EHS Manager, you will serve as the site's EHS leader, providing strategic direction and hands-on support to strengthen environmental, health, safety, and sustainability performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and continuously improve environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs aligned with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles and business objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain ISO-based management systems and EHS standards.
  • Manage site permits and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Create and deliver impactful EHS training programs that increase awareness, engagement, and accountability.
  • Partner with plant managers, supervisors, and employees to proactively identify and reduce workplace risks.
  • Foster an autonomous safety culture where employees actively participate in driving safe behaviors and practices.
  • Lead accident and incident investigations, identify root causes, and ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Develop and maintain site-specific EHS procedures and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other manufacturing sites to share knowledge, drive best practices, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Champion programs that improve workplace safety, operational excellence, and environmental performance.
