RTX’s McKinney Advanced Products Center (APC) is hiring an Operations Quality Engineer to provide quality engineering support across Raytheon programs, ensuring compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements. The role directly influences Customer satisfaction and program success.

The position requires a BS in Engineering/Math/Science/Technology or equivalent experience, and a DoD clearance is indicated; active clearance experience is valued for this on-site role in McKinney,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Math, Science, or Technology or 2 years of related experience (or 6 years without a degree).
• Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management systems.
• Experience with technical procedures, specifications, standards, and other engineering and manufacturing documents.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Use critical thinking resources and methods to improve material processing; minimize inspection; resolve manufacturing defects/problems
• Complete such specialized quality functions as data preparation, analyses, and reporting.
• Perform product and process audits for compliance to various standards and product requirements.
• Coordinate resolution of nonconforming material with Engineering and Production Control teams.
• Support process improvements initiatives.
• Support Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis on processes and products to prevent product defects and mitigate risk
• Support implementation of product Quality Control Plans
• Lead and support root cause and corrective action activities
• Act on all applicable material, product and equipment alerts to prevent impact to product reliability using the nonconformance and/or purge process
• Manage dropped and damaged hardware processing and incident reporting.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).

The Operations Quality Engineer will provide quality engineering support to Raytheon programs to ensure compliance with contractual, company, and regulatory requirements.You will have a great and direct impact on our Customer’s Satisfaction.

What You Will Do

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Math, Science, or Technology or other STEM related field of study and two (2) years of experience in the field of quality, operations or manufacturing engineering OR in lieu of a degree, a minimum of six (6) years of engineering related experience.
• Experience with AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management systems.
• Experience with technical procedures, specifications, standards, and other engineering and manufacturing documents.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Previous experience with First Article Inspections (AS9102) and/or Advanced Product Quality Planning (AS9145).
• Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with team members, customers, and suppliers
• Ability to exercise sound judgement and apply decision-making skills with appropriate supervisory intervention
• Perform autonomous, self-guided process and product assessments, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action
• Ability to effectively multitask and prioritize.
• Familiar with Six Sigma methodologies [e.g. Kaizen, Lean, Define/Measure/Analyze/Improve/Control (DMAIC), and Define/Measure/Analyze/Design/Verify (DMADV)] and resources [e.g. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Capability Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)].
• Experience with GD&T, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing measurement resources and practices.
• Experience working in an aerospace-related manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with Project Management techniques
• Familiarity with microelectronic fab, manufacturing and assembly

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
