Description

Northrop Grumman Defense System is looking for an Operations Program Manager 3 to join our team within the Advanced Weapons (AW) business unit. This leadership role is located in Northridge, CA. The Operations Program Manager 3 will be responsible for directing activities of the Operations Program organization related to missile production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of Operation Program Managers, supporting production schedules and production requirements.
  • Oversee cost, schedule, and technical performance of a specific unit or work package on a large system development contract.
  • Provide broad responsibility for all aspects of program performance on delivery orders or small technical services contracts.
  • Act as an advisor to the unit regarding tasks, projects, and operations.
  • Become actively involved in daily operations when required to meet schedules or resolve complex problems.
  • Routinely meet with production and engineering leadership to build strong relationships and advise on program strategies and execution plans.
  • Determine and develop staffing profiles and schedules to meet program requirements.
  • Establish and cultivate team values and culture with focus on employee engagement, diversity, and first-time quality.
  • Lead internal and external audits to assure process compliance and requirements satisfaction.
  • Oversee projects and tasks assigned to the organizational group performed by non-exempt and/or exempt employees.
  • Assist in meeting schedules and resolving technical or operational problems when required.
  • Accomplish results through lower-level supervisors or exempt employees as appropriate.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in leadership and project management.
  • Experience with Cost Point or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business management.
  • Experience with cost, schedule, project leadership, and/or process improvement.
  • Manufacturing or Engineering experience.
  • Experience with bases of estimates, shop order creation, and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
  • STEM Degree.
  • Current Special Program Access Program capture execution from EMD through FRP.
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing strategies for change.
  • Experience in dynamic environments with schedule changes, design changes, and validation failures.
Salary

Primary Level Salary Range: $159,500.00 - $239,300.00. Salary may be adjusted based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and allow sharing in company results. Senior positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
