Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Northridge, CA seeks an Operations Program Manager 3 to lead missile production activities in the Advanced Weapons unit. The role requires a U.S.

Government DoD Secret clearance and ~10% travel with relocation assistance not available. The successful candidate will supervise multiple program managers, oversee cost, schedule, and technical performance, and partner with production and engineering leadership on strategy and staffing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in leadership and project management.
  • Experience with Cost Point or other ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Operations Program Managers and support production schedules and requirements.
  • Oversee cost, schedule, and technical performance of specific units or work packages on large system development contracts and smaller technical services contracts.
  • Advise units on tasks, projects, and daily operations, intervening only when schedules or complex problems require.
  • Meet regularly with production and engineering leadership to build relationships and advise on program strategy.
  • Determine and develop staffing profiles and schedules to satisfy program needs.
  • Establish team values and culture focused on employee engagement, diversity, and first-time quality.
  • Lead internal and external customer audits to ensure process compliance and requirement satisfaction.
  • Oversee projects and tasks assigned to the group, primarily through lower-level supervisors or exempt employees.

Job Overview

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Operations Program Manager 3 to lead missile production activities in our Advanced Weapons (AW) business unit located in Northridge, CA. This leadership role requires a U.S. Government DoW Secret clearance, 10% travel, and relocation assistance not available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of Operations Program Managers and support production schedules and requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in leadership and project management.
  • Experience with Cost Point or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoW Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Management.
  • Experience with cost, schedule, project leadership, and/or process improvement.
  • Manufacturing or Engineering experience.
  • Experience with basing of estimates, shop order creation, and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
  • STEM degree.
  • Current Special Program Access.
  • Program capture execution from EMD through FRP.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing change strategies.
  • Experience in dynamic environments with schedule, design, and validation changes.
Compensation and Benefits

Primary salary range: $159,500.00 - $239,300.00. Salary is adjusted based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions.

Eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay. Bonuses reward individual contributions and shared company results. Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for long-term incentives.
