Job summary

Thompson Pipe Group in Grand Prairie, TX, is seeking an Operations Master Scheduler to convert a backlog of pipe orders into an integrated build plan. Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of production scheduling/manufacturing planning experience; heavy manufacturing preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
• Background with pipe manufacturing or water/wastewater infrastructure products is a plus.
• Microsoft Project or Primavera (P6) proficiency, including resource loading.
• Mastery of scheduling principles and multi-project prioritization.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word capability.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate, detailed production schedules across multiple projects.
• Coordinate with Supervisors, Purchasing, and Project Managers to meet baselines and due dates.
• Reflect scheduling directives from leadership in ERP and other planning tools.
• Identify bottlenecks, surface risks, and communicate updates to the Director and stakeholders.
• Ensure real-time schedule changes are incorporated on the production floor.

Lead the rhythm of production

Imagine turning a backlog of pipe orders into a synchronized build plan that meets customer demand, respects material realities, and keeps machines humming. As our Operations Master Scheduler, you’ll architect the plan, keep it current, and marshal teams toward on-time delivery.

What success looks like

• Company scheduling platforms and ERP always reflect an accurate, detailed production plan.
• Production schedules consistently align with customer expectations and due dates.
• Baseline project schedules are developed and maintained with Project Managers.
• Scheduling directives and priorities from the Director of Production Planning and Scheduling are executed without ambiguity.
• Production supervisors are fully aligned on progress and constraints; issues are surfaced and resolved quickly.
• Material availability, procurement lead times, and supply limitations are built into the plan through close coordination with Purchasing.
• Real-time changes on the floor are rapidly incorporated into the schedule.
• Sequencing choices reduce downtime, optimize workflow, and elevate plant efficiency.
• Bottlenecks and capacity constraints are identified proactively, with process improvements recommended.
• ERP and scheduling data is clean, complete, and reliable for reporting.
• Updates, changes, and risks are communicated clearly to the Director and stakeholders.
• Both near-term load and long-term capacity are planned with intention.

Your toolkit
