Job summary

Tesco Controls is seeking a Production Scheduler to connect demand and supply across manufacturing and distribution. You will translate the demand plan into a feasible master schedule and drive improvements with cross-functional teams.

You will lead capacity planning, manage the master schedule over a rolling 4–13 week horizon, own promise dates, and support S&OP processes to optimize inventory and on-time delivery for critical water infrastructure projects in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of production planning, master scheduling, or supply chain planning in manufacturing or distribution.
• Strong working knowledge of MRP/TRP systems and master scheduling logic (time fences, available-to-promise).
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling) and capacity/scenario analyses.
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and uphold schedule discipline under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Attend project kickoff meetings to capture scope, milestones, and delivery requirements.
• Develop TRP schedules aligned with Schedule of Values (SOV) and contract billing structure.
• Publish and maintain the master production schedule across a rolling 4–13 week planning horizon.
• Lead rough-cut capacity planning (RCCP) to validate feasibility against labor, equipment, and material constraints.
• Serve as the primary interface between Sales/Customer Service and Operations for delivery date commitments; own promise dates.
• Run the formal schedule change-control process: evaluate, approve, and communicate changes to the master schedule; protect schedule stability.
• Partner with detail/operations scheduling to hand off an executable plan; reconcile execution variances and drive root-cause resolution.
• Develop and own the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process; lead biweekly S&OP meetings, driving cross-functional alignment.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Materials to align material availability with the schedule; flag shortages and drive recovery plans.
• Monitor and report key performance indicators: schedule attainment, on-time delivery, past-due backlog, inventory levels, and capacity utilization.
• Develop and maintain planning parameters in the TRP/MRP system (lead times, lot sizes, time fences, safety stock) and drive data integrity.
• Review the Production ETC (Estimate to Complete) file and update to reflect current schedule status.
• Review work orders for price and cost variances and close completed work orders timely.

The Production Scheduler owns the production schedule and serves as the critical link between demand (sales, customer commitments) and supply (production, materials, and capacity). This role translates the demand plan into a feasible, stable build and delivery schedule over a rolling multi-week horizon, balancing customer service, inventory, and operational efficiency. The Production Scheduler operates at the planning level and works in close partnership with - but independently of - the operations/detail scheduling function, which executes daily work sequencing within the frame set by the master schedule.

What you'll do:

• Attend project kickoff (KO) meetings to capture scope, milestones, and delivery requirements, and incorporate new projects into the master schedule.
• Develop TRP schedules based on the Schedule of Values (SOV), aligning planned production and delivery milestones with contract billing structure and project cash flow.
• Develop, publish, and maintain the master production schedule across a rolling 4-13 week (or longer) planning horizon, ensuring it is realistic, achievable, and aligned to the demand plan.
• Lead rough-cut capacity planning (RCCP) to validate that the master schedule is feasible against labor, equipment, and material constraints before commitments are made.
• Serve as the primary interface between Sales/Customer Service and Operations for delivery date commitments; own promise dates and manage exceptions.
• Run the formal schedule change-control process: evaluate, approve, and communicate changes to the master schedule; protect schedule stability inside the frozen/firm time fences.
• Partner with detail/operations scheduling to hand off an executable plan; reconcile execution variances against the master schedule and drive root-cause resolution of recurring misses.
• Develop and own the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process; lead and facilitate biweekly S&OP meetings, driving cross-functional alignment on demand, supply, capacity, and inventory decisions.
• Collaborate with Purchasing and Materials to align material availability with the schedule; flag shortages and drive recovery plans.
• Monitor and report key performance indicators: schedule attainment, on-time delivery, past-due backlog, inventory levels, and capacity utilization.
• Develop and maintain planning parameters in the TRP/MRP system (lead times, lot sizes, time fences, safety stock) and drive data integrity.
• Review the Production ETC (Estimate to Complete) file and update where necessary to ensure remaining hours, costs, and completion projections accurately reflect current schedule status.
• Review work orders (WOs) for price and cost variances, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and close completed work orders in the system in a timely and accurate manner.

What you bring:

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or related field - or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in production planning, master scheduling, or supply chain planning in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• Strong working knowledge of MRP/TRP systems and master scheduling logic (time fences, planning BOMs, available-to-promise).
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling); comfort building and presenting capacity and scenario analyses.
• Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and hold the line on schedule discipline under pressure.

Preferred

• APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP).
• Experience supporting or leading S&OP/SIOP processes.

Pay offered will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and geographic location. We may pay more or less than the range based on the person's qualifications.
