Job summary

The Timken Company invites you to join the Operations Development Program, a two-year path designed to develop future leaders through hands-on exposure to manufacturing and manufacturing support functions.

Participants will rotate through four six-month assignments across two plants, relocate for the final assignments, and transition to permanent roles after completion. A BS in engineering or operations, GPA 2.8+, and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

  • College graduate (Dec 2026–May 2027 preferred).
  • Relocation ability to multiple placement locations (SC, NC, IL, TN, NH, OH, etc.).
  • U.S. work authorization without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Four assignments, each six months, across two plant locations.
  • Relocate to a second plant for the third and fourth assignments.
  • Upon program completion, permanent assignment in a U.S. manufacturing facility.
  • Interact with senior operations leaders and receive mentorship.

What is the Operations Development Program?

T he Operations Development Program (ODP) is a two-year program designed to provide thorough exposure to The Timken Company's manufacturing and manufacturing support functions to develop future leaders within the company. The program includes various professional development experiences and on-the-job training during each assignment.

ODP participants are a part of a cohort that advance through the program to attend trainings, network, and collaborate with leadership throughout the year. Participants will be mentored, and have significant interaction with senior operations leaders throughout the company.

The program consists of four assignments each six months in duration. The first two assignments will be in one plant location. Program participants will then relocate to a second plant location for their third and fourth assignments. After completion of the program, permanent assignments will be in one of our U.S. manufacturing facilities.

The four assignment focus areas:
  • Supply chain
  • Continuous improvement/lean
  • Manufacturing/operations supervision
  • Quality advancement
Education Requirements/Qualifications:
  • College graduate (December 2026 - May 2027 preferred).
  • Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor's in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Supply Chain Management, Bachelor of Science in Operations Management or related business or engineering degree.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.
  • Manufacturing internships/co-ops preferred.
  • Leadership experience demonstrated in academic or extra-curricular activities, or during employment.
  • Ability to relocate. Possible placement locations: South Carolina, North Carolina, Illinois, Tennessee, New Hampshire, Ohio, or other.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data ("CTD") and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR). Eligible candidates are; US Citizens, Green Card holders, Asylees or others eligible to receive US export license authorizations. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
