Job summary

QXO is seeking an Operations Manager to lead daily warehouse, yard, and inventory activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate material handling. You will coordinate cross-functional teams across Sales, Purchasing, Transportation, and branch leadership to keep materials flowing and customers satisfied.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, problem-solving, and proactive planning to prevent disruptions while maintaining high safety and quality standards in a dynamic building materials

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years in warehouse, distribution, operations, building materials, or related environment.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in warehouse or operational environments.
• Experience managing inventory, shipping/receiving, material handling, and warehouse workflow.
• Basic proficiency with computers, inventory systems, and business applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily warehouse and yard operations to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient material flow.
• Coordinate shipping and receiving priorities to support customer and operational requirements.
• Oversee picking, staging, stocking, receiving, loading, and movement of building materials.
• Lead, coach, develop, and support warehouse, yard, shipping, receiving, and other operational employees.
• Promote a safety-first culture and ensure OSHA and PPE compliance.
• Coordinate maintenance priorities for vehicles and equipment to minimize downtime.
• Develop and implement standardized workflows and best practices across the facility.
• Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, Transportation, Dispatch, Shop, and branch leadership to meet customer needs.
