Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading terminal operator based in Oakland, California. This company is one of the primary terminal operators at a major West Coast port and is in the middle of a significant infrastructure modernization program.

They are looking to add two Operations Managers to lead the day-to-day supervision of terminal labor and cargo operations.

What You Will Do:

• Manage and supervise longshore workers, foremen, supercargoes, and planners across vessel, yard, gate, and rail functions.
• Make real-time decisions on labor assignments, shift extensions, and equipment needs.
• Handle discipline, grievances, and labor dispatch in compliance with collective bargaining agreement provisions.
• Prepare shift productivity reports and coordinate with maintenance and repair.
• Ensure compliance with hazardous cargo regulations and safety protocols.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in operations, marine administration, transportation, engineering, or equivalent management experience.
• Two or more years managing union labor under a collective bargaining agreement.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and up to 12-hour shifts.
• A valid driver's license.
• Port operations experience is a strong plus.
