Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Mining Operations Manager to be based in the Western US. In this role, you will manage multiple projects with high contract value, requiring complex coordination across multiple systems and processes.

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Sponsor Project PMs to ensure safe, profitable work.
Develop and mentor project staff on contract administration, cost controls, scheduling basics, contract negotiations, field management.
Recruit staff and craft to support the growing business.
Plan for mining fleet CapEx and maintenance.
Support strategic planning for key pursuits in target sectors, including client analysis, competitive positioning, and teaming recommendations.
Support capture plan development, pursuit calendars, and SWOT analyses.
Facilitate go/no-go discussions and strategy sessions with executive sponsors and BD teams.
Ensure all messaging reflects the client’s values, pain points, and success criteria.
Analyze RFQs, RFPs, and contract documents to identify key risks, requirements, and opportunities.
Coordinate with legal, estimating, and risk management teams to ensure proposal responses reflect contract compliance and risk mitigation strategy.
Coordinate input and feedback from subject matter experts, partners, estimators, and executives.
Foster strong relationships with clients during prepositioning, procurement, and debrief stages.
Facilitate interaction between site staff and corporate departments.
Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant discipline.
Strong writing, editing, and messaging skills, with experience tailoring technical content for client needs.
Experience facilitating meetings and working groups with diverse stakeholders, including engineers, executives, and JV partners.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, SharePoint, CMiC (Cost Management).
This position oversees Shimmick’s Western US mining operations and may be based out of any number of regional offices or a home office convenient for travel to multiple site locations.

The salary range for this position is between $225,000 – $275,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.

These benefits are available to all employees working more than 20 hours per week. Employees working less than 20 hours per week are eligible for medical, dental and vision coverage as well as EAP services.
