Job summary

Maersk is seeking an experienced Operations Manager in Tulsa, OK to oversee shipments, paperwork, and driver dispatch. You will be the primary liaison among customers, sales, system operations, and vendors, ensuring quality service while following policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years in Operations Management, preferably in transportation and logistics, crossdock, and/or LTL.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Excellent organizational and management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must have superior organizational and time management skills
• Strong understanding of logistics, LTL, and/or crossdock processes and procedures
• Experience with inventory management and supply chain management
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
• Proficiency in using logistics software and systems
• Ability to read key elements of financial statements in support of functional role responsibilities
• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
• Must be approachable and motivated
• Strong problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Freight handling via forklift; assist District Manager with general tasks.
• Ensure safe operations and compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Train, supervise, coach and evaluate all direct reports.
• Review operational KPIs monthly and apply corrective actions.
• Analyze processes to improve operating efficiencies and workflows.
• Oversee warehouse operations and supervise direct reports.
• Communicate freight status and issues to customers and vendors.
• Delegate duties and coordinate with departments to meet targets.
