About the Role

As our Operations Manager I, you will lead a team to ensure top-level service of document review, certification, and safekeeping services for our clients in investment banking, insurance, and government agencies. You will manage daily production and staff activities for your assigned group and location.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the safekeeping of Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS).
  2. Review safekeeping procedures, identify strategic improvements to support business growth.
  3. Monitor and prioritize incoming requests, distribute work effectively.
  4. Coordinate with third-party vendors (e.g., FedEx, UPS, Quicksilver) to ensure operations are smooth.
  5. Build an effective team through coaching and training, developing subject matter experts.
  6. Create capacity plans, monitor reports, and manage production staff to meet service level agreements.
  7. Review and approve timecards and PTO.
  8. Ensure team adherence to Line of Business and company policies.
  9. Collaborate with peer vault managers to allocate resources based on priorities.
  10. Conduct team and one-on-one meetings with direct reports monthly.
  11. Complete written performance reviews at mid-year and year-end.
  12. Ensure production and quality assurance goals are met or exceeded, accurately entered into the MIC.
  13. Interact daily with internal partners.
  14. Partner with subject matter experts, business partners, and Relationship Managers to define service expectations.
  15. Contribute to strategic planning to align with corporate objectives.
  16. Demonstrate and embody the CPU Being Purple values.
Qualifications

Key skills include:

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in financial services, including commercial loans, mortgage-backed securities, document custody, or operations management.
  • Ability to analyze information and make independent decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred skills include familiarity with EmbTrust, knowledge of ABS and CMBS, experience in fast-paced environments, and a proactive attitude to learning and growth.
