Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking an Operations Manager in Durham, NC to oversee end-to-end operational functions within a fast-growing insurance and financial services organization. The role is hands-on, with a focus on delivering superior customer and partner experiences, and requires local siting in Durham.

Responsibilities include leading New Business, Premium Remittance, Licensing & Commissions, Client and Producer Support, and Claims; driving efficiency, quality, and service levels; and shaping

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 3–5+ years of management experience.
• Experience in a contact center, insurance, or financial services environment.
• Proven leadership to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• High attention to detail with a proactive mindset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all operational departments including New Business, Premium Remittance, Licensing & Commissions, Client Support, Producer Support, and Claims.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround times.
• Supervise contact center performance to ensure high-quality customer experience across touchpoints.
• Maintain deep knowledge of products, systems, processes, and operational business rules.
• Manage and resolve escalated issues with strong cross-team collaboration.
• Develop performance metrics and partner with department leaders to drive productivity and service excellence.
• Coach, mentor, and motivate departmental leadership to achieve goals.
• Review and approve client withdrawal requests in line with contracts and fraud prevention.
• Lead hiring across operations, including screening, interviewing, and hiring recommendations.
• Drive employee engagement and foster a collaborative workplace culture.
• Lead operational meetings to keep teams aligned and executing efficiently.
