Job summary

Zimmer Heating & Cooling is seeking an Operations Manager, HVAC Install to lead our installation department and elevate performance in the Greater Cincinnati market. This hands-on role emphasizes people development, process improvement, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

You will coach technicians, drive installation revenue and productivity, and collaborate with sales, dispatch, warehouse, and service teams while ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HVAC leadership experience.
• Experience managing residential installation teams.
• Strong knowledge of installation practices, scheduling, and field operations.
• Ability to coach technicians and build high-performing teams.
• Experience managing operational KPIs and driving accountability.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of residential HVAC installation technicians, field supervisors, and support staff
• Drive performance across key metrics including installation revenue, gross margin, productivity, callback reduction, safety, and customer satisfaction
• Conduct ride-alongs, field observations, and coaching sessions to support technician development and quality standards
• Partner with sales, dispatch, warehouse, and service teams to ensure seamless project execution and customer communication
• Monitor installation quality through job site visits, audits, and process reviews
• Manage customer escalations and ensure timely resolution of issues
• Analyze departmental KPIs and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and profitability
• Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention efforts for the installation department
• Ensure inventory, equipment, and fleet resources are properly managed and deployed
• Promote a culture of accountability, safety, continuous improvement, and customer-first service
• Collaborate with senior leadership on growth initiatives, capacity planning, and operational excellence

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of HVAC leadership experience
• Previous experience managing residential HVAC installation teams
• Strong knowledge of residential HVAC installation practices, project management, scheduling, and field operations
• Proven ability to coach technicians and build high-performing teams
• Experience managing operational KPIs and driving accountability
• Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to balance people leadership with day-to-day operational execution
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading install teams within a residential HVAC organization
• ServiceTitan or similar field service management software experience
• Track record of improving department profitability, productivity, and customer satisfaction
• Experience managing multiple crews in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
