Job summary

Apex Group Ltd in Reston, VA is seeking an experienced Payments Operations Lead to manage end-to-end global payment processes, including SWIFT, FED, FX and cash management. You will oversee a 10+ person team, drive process improvements and ensure SLA adherence across offices worldwide.

You will review vendor payments, validate payment details, monitor cut-offs, resolve queries, and partner with senior stakeholders to optimize controls and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in commerce or related field; MBA is a plus.
• Extensive experience in payments, treasury or transfer agency.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end global payment operations, including SWIFT (MT103/MT202), FED Payments, Internal Transfers, FX Transactions, RTGS, and NEFT.
• Review and process fund-related vendor payments, custody bank invoices, subscription, and redemption payments.
• Validate Standard Settlement Instructions (SSIs) and ensure accuracy of banking details such as ABA, BIC, IBAN, Sort Code, and BSB.
• Monitor payment mailboxes, prioritize transactions based on currency cut-offs, and ensure timely execution.
• Support global offices and clients by resolving payment-related queries via email and calls.
• Drive daily operational controls, escalations, MIS reporting, and process improvements.
• Lead and manage a team of 10+ members while ensuring service delivery and SLA adherence.

Requirements

• 10-14 years of experience in Payments, Treasury, Banking Operations, or Transfer Agency.
• Strong knowledge of SWIFT, FED Payments, FX settlements, and cash management processes.
• Experience in handling payment investigations and fund-related transactions.
• Prior team management experience.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
• Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent. MBA preferred.
• Knowledge of Hedge Funds and Private Equity will be an added advantage.
