Operations Manager
This role supports the Operations team at I. Rice as the Operations Manager for all production areas. Experience in a food manufacturing setting is essential.

This is a full-time position with daytime hours, primarily Monday through Friday. The candidate should be adaptable to perform multiple duties and seize new opportunities daily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate kettle and filling equipment properly to meet quality standards established by Operations and Quality Control teams
  • Handle ingredients, packaging, and other goods appropriately
  • Monitor processing parameters, including temperature, cook times, and filling/packaging
  • Manage the daily production schedule as assigned
  • Supervise temporary staff to ensure attendance and organizational placement
  • Train temporary and new employees on GMPs and company policies
  • Ensure floor staff adherence to assignments, food safety, and quality standards
  • Inspect finished products for quality and consistency, notifying relevant teams of concerns
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

Skills and Experience:
Candidates should have fundamental knowledge of the duties and equipment listed. Training will be provided as needed. Key skills include:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including clear speaking, active listening, and clarification

  • High organization to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective time management

Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred. Minimum 2-5 years of manufacturing experience, including staff supervision. Mechanical aptitude for minor adjustments, knowledge of GMPs, safety protocols, ability to lift 50 pounds, and long periods on feet are essential.
