Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking an Operations Manager for Digital Services to oversee front-end technical sales support, order acceptance, and project delivery across the United States.

You will manage digital field substation monitoring projects, lead a team of service technicians, and coordinate between Sales, Engineering, Quality, and Purchasing to ensure on-time delivery and cost control. Responsibilities

• Process and acknowledge orders using Salesforce and SAP.
• Manage the execution of digital field substation equipment monitoring projects, including schedules and field service activities.
• Directly manage a team of service technicians and support personnel development.
• Prepare operations budgets and forecast project costs.
• Coordinate warranty and support activities with the Global Call Center.
• Serve as the subject matter resource for substation monitoring projects and devices.
• Coordinate across Sales, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and production to deliver on time and within cost and quality standards.
• Prepare technical specifications and documentation, investigate problems, and provide root-cause recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

The Opportunity

As an Operations Manager for Digital Services, you will manage front-end technical sales support, order acceptance, and project execution for digital projects and services across the United States. You will oversee digital field substation equipment monitoring projects, including project tracking, inventory control, lead-time management, field service scheduling, budgeting, cost forecasting, and the direct management of service technicians. You will serve as a subject matter resource for substation monitoring projects and devices while coordinating work across Sales, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, production teams, and the Global Call Center. Your work will help ensure that customer and engineering orders are completed on schedule, within cost expectations, and according to established quality standards.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Process and acknowledge orders using Salesforce and SAP, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with customer proposals.
• Manage the execution of digital field substation equipment monitoring projects, including schedules, inventory, lead times, and field service activities.
• Directly manage a team of service technicians and support personnel development.
• Prepare operations budgets and regularly review and forecast direct and indirect project costs.
• Coordinate warranty and support activities with the Global Call Center to resolve customer issues promptly.
• Serve as the subject matter resource for substation equipment monitoring projects and devices.
• Coordinate among Sales, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and production teams to deliver orders on time, within cost expectations, and to quality standards.
• Prepare technical specifications and documentation, investigate technical problems, and provide recommendations for reports and root cause investigation.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field.
• 5-10 years of overall professional experience in operations, project management, digital services, field service, or related technical environments.
• Able to organize work, manage multiple deadlines simultaneously, and maintain excellent attention to detail.
• Able to communicate effectively and collaborate across technical, operational, and customer-facing teams.
• Programming experience connecting IIoT devices; SAP experience is preferred.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 30% as business needs require.
