Kids for the Future is seeking an Operations Manager to lead staff across software development, engineering, installation and technical services. You will oversee resources, work with project managers, and strive to maximize customer satisfaction while meeting revenue and profit goals.

The role requires extensive experience in building technology systems, cost and budget forecasting, and process improvement.

Qualifications

  • OSHA-30 certification desirable
  • All licenses and certifications required to work in an operating group
  • Five (5) years of operations experience in engineering, installation, and service of building technology systems with five (5) years of management experience in operations
  • Eight (8) years’ experience in HVAC, BAS, Security or Professional Building Services with five (5) years of management experience

Description

Operations Manager Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for application, design and promotion, installation, verification and service of all companyproducts and services to include the direction of staff in software development, engineering, projectmanagement, installation, and technical services departments. Ensures the performance of companyresources. Creates maximum customer satisfaction and meets or exceeds the revenue and profit objectivescontained in the project estimate and that of the Predetermined Plan for Profit.
  • Forecast and track the equipment, manpower and budget requirements for construction. Monitors cost andlabor performance to estimates works with Project Managers and Controller to forecast cost tocomplete on projects as required by company policy. Implements corrective actions as required to ensureperformance to plan.
  • Optimizes performance of departments under his/her direction, to include reducing errors and go-backsacross all activities, labor realization and project hours s a percentage of hours paid and reduces/compresseslead- and cycle-time throughout the chain of value creation
  • Develops and fosters a high-level relationship with key members of customer management staff.
  • Determine/enforce the Operations Department policies regarding employee responsibilities, training,workmanship quality, daily planning, and scheduling.
  • Develop innovations and ideas on new equipment, processes, operating techniques and procedures toreduce direct job expense, improve products, and enhance safety.
  • Develop and oversee customer training program including demonstration and class materials.
  • Manage company facilities including warehouse, testing facility, computer systems used in software andengineering, tool/equipment inventory, vehicles, shop, catalog and other reference resources.
  • Assists the Sales Manager in marketing the company services to potential customers.
  • Support the Branch General Manager in development of strategic and operating plans, and PredeterminedPlan for Profit.
  • Conduct employee evaluations for direct reports and ensure annual reviews are conducted on all personnelunder his/her oversight. Ensure employee retention.
  • Establish procedures for maintenance of equipment. Assign equipment to employees and maintainaccountability of issued equipment.
  • Review and approve all new contracts.
  • Proposes and develops policies and procedures for review and approval by Branch General Manager and President, as applicable, to streamline, structure, and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements

Operations Manager Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma Required
  • Bachelor's degree from a university preferred
  • OSHA-30
  • All licenses and certifications required to work in an operating group
  • Five (5) years of operations experience in engineering, installation, and service of building technology systems with five (5) years of management experience in operations required.
  • Eight (8) years’ experience of operations in the HVAC, BAS, Security or ProfessionalBuilding Services industry with five (5) years management experience in operationspreferred.
  • Must understand the construction and service business theory. Must have the specificindustry knowledge necessary to evaluate risk and make decisions that benefit thecompany.
  • Must understand general aspects of contract law, taxes, and construction contracts,and possess fundamental financial and budgetary acumen.
  • Must understand the current and future capabilities of the service being provided andmaintained by the company, and customers being served.
  • Must have the demonstrated ability to manage people effectively.
  • Must possess the business skills needed to coordinate the total growth effort of theoperations department of the company.
  • Must be able to prepare and deliver complex product presentations, and to be able totrain and coach others in effective presentation of programs.
  • Mathematics: Must comprehend advanced arithmetic functions to compute discounts, ratios and conversions. Must comprehend complex accounting calculations and budget management.
